What was the last thing you made from scratch?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 19, 2007:
I suppose that depends how "from scratch" you mean...
I crochet hats, but I don't spin the yarn or shear the sheep
I write books, but remain unconvinced that there are original ideas left in this world. I also don't make the paper or anything; in fact, I've handed off the manufacturing process off to my publisher.
I write my own classes, and I do my best to be as original as possible, but again, I remain unconvinced there are truly new ideas out there. It's more a matter of packaging...
I suppose my photography is original, but it's just a reporoduction of something I didn't make...
I just made some dinner, but none of the ingredients were things I picked myself from a garden... regardless, I am unlikely to eat ready-made or pre-packaged foods, because of my food sensitivities.
